The Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) is organizing the Finance Connect Singapore (FCS) Makeover Contest to enhance the portal's content as well as its look and feel.

 

ABOUT FCS

WHAT IS FINANCE CONNECT SINGAPORE (FCS)?

Launched in September 2006, the Financial Connect Singapore (FCS) portal acts as a one-stop portal that connects all the financial institutions, financial trade associations and relevant government bodies in Singapore. It aims to:

•  provide an overview of Singapore's financial sector and the world of opportunities offered by this industry

•  showcase a diversified career options across the various segments of this industry

•  highlight the skill-sets and training required for new entrants and practitioners in the financial industry

•  provide professional development roadmap for existing financial practitioners

•  provide background corporate information and quick links to the websites of financial institutions and other key institutions operating in Singapore's financial sector

•  give an overview of working and living in Singapore

OBJECTIVES

WHAT IS THE OBJECTIVE OF THE CONTEST?

The contest is a platform for students to display their creative design talent and showcase their marketing savvy to help enhance the content and the look and feel of FCS, and extend FCS' outreach to new entrants and practitioners in the financial services industry as well as those aspiring to join this industry, via:

•  a logo design for FCS,

•  content and layout enhancements,

•  marketing and communication strategies to raise awareness of FCS among students and practitioners who are future leaders in making for the Singapore Financial Industry.

 

HOW DOES THE CONTEST WORK?

You / your team are required to submit a proposal for FCS portal enhancement which should address the following:

•  Logo design for FCS and rationale for the design.

•  content and layout enhancements

•  marketing and communication strategy to enhance the reach of FCS to the target audience (i.e. students and other potential entrants to the industry, and financial practitioners).

 

ELIGIBILITY

All applicants must be full-time students in a local institute of higher learning (i.e. universities or polytechnics).


Please note that

•  Proposals must be submitted in Word format and limited to 3000 words.

•  All online submissions must not exceed the maximum file size of 5MB.

 

JUDGING CRITERIA

IBF will emphasize the following criteria in reviewing the entries:

•  Logo Design (20%)

•  Content Enhancement (50%)

•  Marketing & Communications Strategy (30%)


IBF may invite shortlisted participants to present their proposals.

 

PRIZES

1st Prize - S$2,000;

2nd Prize - S$1,000;

3rd Prize - S$500.

Winners will be notified via email.

1. Proposals must be submitted in Word format and limited to 3000 words.

2. All online submissions must not exceed the maximum file size of 5MB.

3. IBF shall not be liable for any claim, loss or damage arising out of or in connection with this contest, including any proposal that may not be received by IBF for any reason whatsoever.

4. All submissions must be original. Participants warrant the originality and ownership of the materials contained in the proposals that are submitted and agree to discharge IBF from any and all claims, actions, liabilities or losses in connection with the originality of the materials.

5. IBF's decision shall be final. IBF will not enter into discussions with any participant on the merits of any proposal.

6. All proposals submitted to IBF pursuant to this Contest shall belong to IBF. IBF reserves the right to use or adopt any ideas, designs or suggestions contained in applicants' proposals.
