IBF Masterclass: Blockchain and Decentralized Finance

Blockchain can streamline banking and lending services, reducing counterparty risk, and decreasing issuance and settlement times. It allows: Authenticated documentation and KYC/AML data, reducing operational risks and enabling real-time verification of financial documents.

In this session, we will cover a basic introduction to blockchain and introduce participants to the smart-contract based world of decentralized finance. We will discuss different applications of blockchain in finance like borrowing/lending, exchanges, tokenization and asset management applications. We will also introduce concepts like stable coins, governance tokens, staking and slashing as well as yield farming and briefly look at the main benefits and challenges for this technology and its increasing application in financial services. The speaker will take questions from the audience at the end of his presentation.
