As part of Skills Future Festival organised by Skills Future Singapore, the IBF will be organising an online forum on 10-11 Aug 2022 to reach out to the financial community on the topic of Sustainable Finance.

The event will seek to highlight the latest developments in the area of sustainable finance and the key job roles and skillsets for financial professionals who are keen to be part of this exciting growth area.

The event will comprise of

  1. Industry sharing through webinars - a series of webinars featuring industry leaders who will share their insights on key developments in sustainable finance through presentation or panel discussions. 
  2. Showcase of job opportunities in sustainable finance - There will also be a showcase of financial institutions who are recruiting for job roles in sustainable finance as they seek to grow their businesses in this area and finance professionals will be able to use the platform to engage with these institutions on job openings in sustainable finance. 
  3. Spotlight on key skills in sustainable finance - We will also have training providers run sample workshops on key skills that will be in demand in the area of sustainable finance to allow participants in the event to find out more about these skillsets and sign up for relevant training programmes.

 Greening the Economy – a collaborative effort

2021 saw incredible growth in sustainable finance and ESG assets under management (AUM) are projected to reach US$50 trillion by 2025 and make up one-third of global AUM. Sustainable bonds already made up 10% of global debt issued in 2021, with US$1 trillion issued for the first time and a 40% increase over 2020.

As sustainability takes centre stage in the development agenda for over 60 countries, companies are making a decisive pivot towards sustainability. The financial system is a crucial enabler for this concerted effort.
