Wealth Management

"I am sincerely humbled and honoured to receive this award from IBF. As private bankers, we are in the business of managing and growing our client wealth, a responsibility that should not be taken lightly. As such, we must have a persevering and endearing attitude of pursuing knowledge, upgrading professional knowledge and standards in an effort to provide better services to our clients."

Robin Heng is the Global Market Head for Bank of Singapore’s Indonesia and Philippine teams. He manages over 150 staff in Singapore, Hong Kong and the Philippines. Robin is also a member of the Bank’s senior management committee that maps out and steers the Bank’s strategic direction and initiatives.

Under his watch as Global Market Head, Bank of Singapore has retained recognition as Best Private Wealth Management Bank in the Philippines in 2015 by Alpha Southeast Asia, a distinction the Philippines team has held since 2014. Prior to his current appointment, Robin was Market Head for Indonesia and was responsible for strengthening collaboration with OCBC NISP and making inroads into less-tapped Indonesia cities.

Robin is firm believer of regular training and mentoring of staff to ensure that they can keep up with the fast changing financial industry landscape and the needs of an evolving client profile. He is also passionate about giving back to the community that the Bank operates. Robin has rallied and led his team in corporate social responsibility efforts in villages in Indonesia – building water storage and sanitation facilities and providing access to clean water to rural communities.

Robin is a veteran banker with more than 20 years of experience in private wealth management and has held senior positions in a number of global financial institutions.

As an active member of the industry-endorsed Client Advisor Competency Standards Continuing Professional Development Advisory Group (CACS CPDAG), Robin plays an important role upholding the high level of competency of the wealth management industry in Singapore. Well-regarded for his industry experience, Robin has been invited as a guest moderator and speaker at several industry forums such as Private Banking Asia and IBF Connect, where he expounds on topics covering wealth management in Indonesia and the transformation of the wealth management industry.

Robin was conferred the IBF Fellow award in 2016 by the Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore (IBF). The IBF Fellow title recognises industry veterans who exemplify thought leadership and commitment to industry development.

Robin holds a degree in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada.
