Matthias graduated from NTU with a major in Chemical Engineering and a double minor in Business and Entrepreneurship. He joined DBS under its Graduate Associate Programme upon graduation in 2011.

During his two years in the Programme, Matthias was first placed in the Institutional Banking Group as a client servicing officer in Cash Operations. His main duties were to handle internal and external customer queries on the IDEAL platform and to rectify them on a first call resolution basis. For his next rotation, he was tasked with process improvement projects to identify and streamline processes to achieve productivity gains and BAU processing for the trade export and import teams.

Matthias then moved to the Consumer Banking Group where he joined the Control Automation projects team. His main role was in delivering initiative projects in the automation and resiliency space. Matthias is now a Customer and Employee Experience Project Manager. He is also in-charge of The Learning Piece which enables employees to learn on-demand digitally via mobile phones, and in bite-sized format.

Matthias was conferred the IBF Aspire Award in 2016 by the Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore. This title recognises IBF-certified practitioners who have achieved outstanding results in an IBF accredited training programme and are committed to raising their capabilities through continual learning and professional development via the IBF Standards.
