Biography
Soh Kian Tiong is Global Head, Financial Institutions in DBS' Institutional Banking Group. He oversees relationships with banks and non-bank financial institutions (such as insurance companies, funds, securities companies, supranationals, central banks) across US, Europe and Asia. He also oversees the teams covering Singapore government related entities such as GIC, Temasek and universities. Kian Tiong actively engages other financial institutions to bring new investment opportunities to Asian investors and promotes digital solutions in trade and payments across multiple locations.
In addition, Kian Tiong manages the Credit Advisory Team, which is responsible for reviewing and implementing rehabilitation plans and recovery plans for complex distressed credits.
Prior to this, he was DBS' Head of Credit Risk. In this role, he was responsible for the implementation of Basel and pioneered the use of economic capital and risk appetite frameworks in the bank.
Kian Tiong is a member of the Advisory Board of the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum, an independent think tank for central banking, economic policy and public investment, and a board member of the Asian Bankers Association. He also actively participates in the Committee on Cooperation in Finance, Investment and Trade and the China ASEAN Interbank Association.
Kian Tiong holds a MSc from Carnegie Mellon University and MBA from University of Chicago.
