Sylvelin has over 35 years of experience in banking. She is currently regional head of the Permanent Control team, responsible for oversight of operational risk matters within BNP Paribas, Wealth Management Asia. She assumed the role in 2014 and contributed much to the thought process in developing the operational risk control framework in the group.

She has held various senior appointments; covering risk and control functions, business process re-engineering; having been an external auditor, head of Audit, head of Systems Development, regional head of Wealth Management Operations Asia prior to her current role.

During her tenure as head of Systems Development, she undertook the responsibility for reviewing and implementing changes to ready the Bank's systems and applications for Y2K. Thereafter, she moved to support the Group's strategic move in developing Asia as a Wealth Management hub, setting up the Regional Operations Centre for activities undertaken by both Singapore and Hong Kong Wealth Management entities.

She has conducted many risk and control related training programs, including the in-house Certified Private Banker program accredited by IBF and training on Operational Risk Management. She is a people developer and is also mentor to young graduates under the Bank's Finance Associate Management Scheme.  Besides her professional status as an accountant FCA Singapore, she was awarded Graduate Diploma in Compliance, Masterclass from ICA in 2011.
