Biography

​Alison Lim is Managing Director, Indonesia Market Leader for Credit Suisse (CS) Private Banking.  She joined CS in 2013 as Singapore Market Leader before moving to her current position in 2016.  In addition to driving growth of the markets under her coverage, she pioneered various strategic business and risk culture initiatives including innovative front office risk awareness workshops, the bank's flagship Asia Entrepreneurs Forum and the bank's strategy for Indonesia Market post-Tax Amnesty.  Under her leadership, CS received Asian Private Banker's 2017 Best Private Bank Indonesia International award.  In 2017, Credit Suisse Group's Conduct and Ethics Board presented Alison with the prestigious Global CS Employee Award for Client Focus. 

Alison has almost three decades of financial sector experience.  She started her career with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) as an economist where she performed macroeconomic research on Singapore and regional economies. She was subsequently promoted to Director, Financial Centre Development Department where she formulated key strategies to develop Singapore's wealth management and insurance/reinsurance industries.  She was instrumental in the rapid expansion of private banks in Singapore, the development of a holistic wealth management eco-system and the resultant job creation.  After more than a decade with MAS, she joined the private sector in 2006, taking on front office leadership positions in top private banks UBS AG where she headed the Global Investors APAC team and currently CS.  At UBS, she led teams of senior bankers based in Singapore and Hong Kong covering UHNW clients and family offices in Europe and the Middle East looking to diversify their investment portfolios and wealth planning needs into Asia.

Alison is deeply committed to the sustainable development of Singapore's wealth management industry.   She has served on Singapore's Private Banking Industry Group's CACS CPD Advisory Group since 2013, contributing actively to raising industry competency levels.  She is currently a member of the IBF Private Banking Industry Workgroup and the Wealth Management Institute's Expert Panel on Leadership.  She also serves as an Industry Mentor for Wealth Management with E2i's U Career Network. 

Alison graduated with a Masters of Arts from the University of Oxford where she studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) on a full MAS scholarship.  In 2018, Alison was conferred the IBF Fellow title by the Institute of Banking and Finance.  This recognizes industry veterans who exemplify thought leadership and commitment to industry development.​
