Biography

​Andrew Ho has been with Standard Chartered Private Bank since November 2016 where he is Managing Director (Market Head of South and Southeast Asia). In his role, he is responsible for the development and execution of the business and market strategy as well as growing the business in a sustainable manner.

Andrew has close to 30 years of banking experience. He started his career at Tat Lee Bank Limited in 1991 where he covered Indonesia's offshore market. He joined Citibank in 1993 and was with the International Personal Bank (IPB) for eight years. In 1997, Andrew was appointed as the Unit Head with supervisory responsibilities over a team of bankers, where he was also tasked with the responsibility to foster closer collaboration with the other IPB centres.

In 2001, Andrew joined UBS AG where he held various frontline and senior management roles as Client Advisor, Desk Head and Country Team Head of the Indonesia High-Net-Worth Market. During his stint at UBS, he contributed to the growth story of UBS' wealth management business in Asia. In 2010, he was appointed Country Team Head where he was part of the management team that led the bank through the aftermath of the global financial crisis and the subprime mortgage crisis.

Andrew graduated from the National University of Singapore (Class of 1991) with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He is currently part of the IBF Private Banking Industry Workgroup, and he is on the Wealth Management Institute's Expert Panel on Client Management.​
