Biography

​Mun Bin leads a team of Financial Markets legal counsels in Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore. As the Head of Legal, FXRC & Financial Markets, Mun Bin leads his team in supporting the Bank's Financial Markets business and help manage legal risks associated with the business in the ASEAN and South Asia region. ​

Mun Bin has 25 years of experience in legal and Financial Markets. Over the years, he has served in various industry forums and working groups to support the growth of Singapore as a leading global financial centre and the development of regional markets, including the standardisation of contractual documents relating to various foreign exchange and interest rate derivatives. He was also the Honorary Legal Advisor to ACI Singapore – The Financial Markets Association from 2010 to 2014.

Mun Bin started his career in a law firm. He joined the Finance Markets industry as a legal counsel in 1998 and participated in the development of local and regional markets. He has actively contributed to industry discussions to promote market liquidity and enhance contractual robustness of trading contracts. In 2013, he served the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS) and Singapore Foreign Exchange Market Committee (SFEMC) working groups by assisting in the review of financial benchmarks administered by ABS to enhance their robustness.

Today, Mun Bin continues to contribute regularly and serve in various International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) working groups and SFEMC sub-committees.​
