Founder and current Chairman and Managing Director of Promiseland Independent Pte Ltd, David started the company in 1986.  Backed by his wide experience as a Divisional Manager and Director of several companies, David steered the company to its current position as one of Singapore's leading independent financial adviser firms.

David was a Sword of Honour recipient during his National Service, a Public Administration medal winner while serving in Singapore's Administrative Service and a Friend of Labour recipient.

A firm believer in professionalism, besides consistently training his staff and advisers, David also provided many years of training in the Singapore College of Insurance in the 1980s and 1990s for their diploma and associateship courses such as Diploma in Life Insurance, Diploma in Financial Planning, Chartered Financial Consultant and Associateship of Chartered Insurance Institute.  David also lectured one year at Nanyang Technological University for the Bachelor of Banking and Insurance and also trained practitioners for the Certified Financial Planner course.

A BBA (Hon) graduate, David is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and was a Fellow of Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII). He has won both industry examination and essay competition awards.

David's commitment to professionalism and raising the competency of IFAs is reflected in his company's emphasis on comprehensive training and his active contribution in the area of association work and training for the industry at large. He has contributed regularly to financial planning and financial magazines and has conducted seminars in Singapore and the region.​

David served in the Association of Financial Advisers Singapore [AFA(S)] from its inception and was its President from 2005 to 2007 and from 2017 to 2019.  He contributed much to the raising of the profile of Independent Financial Advisers and using financial planning as the way to best uncover and meet clients' total financial needs.
