Biography

​Mr Lawrence Loh is Managing Director and Head of Group Business Banking and is responsible for UOB's small business segment across its Southeast Asian markets.

As part of Group Business Banking's growth strategy, Mr Loh also spearheads the Bank's initiatives to support small businesses beyond banking. These include forging small- and medium-sized enterprise (SME) ecosystems through strategic collaboration with government institutions and technology companies to build SMEs' digital capabilities for more efficient operations and scaling of their businesses domestically and regionally.

Prior to this role, Mr Loh was Head of Business Banking in Indonesia, where he led the team in serving the needs of small businesses and in turn, contributing to the growth in profitability and balance sheet for the Group. He had also led the Strategy, Portfolio and Sales Performance Management function in Business Banking where he developed and deployed an holistic regional sales and service operating model that helped drive Business Banking's strong performance.

Mr Loh has more than 20 years of banking experience. Before joining UOB, he held several key management roles in a global private and investment bank. He also held operational and leadership responsibilities in product analytics and business development in consumer banking and private banking. He began his career as a management consultant.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland, Australia.
