​Ms Yap Kwee Hong joined OCBC Bank in 2013 and was appointed to Head of Global Trade Finance in 2016. In her role, she is responsible for building the bank's trade franchise and driving regional initiatives in Trade Finance and Supply Chain.

Prior to joining OCBC Bank, Ms Yap spent 17 years in Citibank assuming various Trade Finance roles in sales and product management. Her notable professional contribution included driving trade growth in Asia Pacific and was instrumental in setting up the Asia Trade Hub in Singapore.

Ms Yap's first career was in the public service with the Ministry of Finance, Customs & Excise department to promote and facilitate trade in Singapore. She spearheaded the setup of Tourist Refund Scheme following the implementation of the Goods & Services Tax (GST) and was a key contributor in digitalisation of trade declarations via TradeNet for the Singapore Customs.

Ms Yap enjoys taking on new challenges and pioneering product innovations. She launched the first trade outsourcing solution to large MNC with Regional Treasury Centres in Singapore to support their sales to the Asia Pacific region. She also developed an innovative web-enabled Electronic Presentation solution to improve turnaround time under documentary trade presentation for corporate customers.

Over the years, Ms Yap has been active in promoting trade finance as panel speaker at industry forums and contributed actively in industry working committees. She is member of the Asia Trade Finance Committee of the Bankers Association for Finance and Trade (BAFT).

Ms Yap holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business (Hons) from the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University.
