"Happy employees make happy clients. First, empower and build an engaged workforce. The pride our people feel will be translated into commitment to our clients – to make banking with us simple but always human."

Andrew's career spans more than two decades in the financial services industry. He started out as a FX and Corporate dealer with DBS Bank in 1994. In 1997, he moved to Citibank where he held various wealth management positions, spanning investment, treasury, insurance and mortgage products. His last appointment at Citibank was Managing Director, Head of Investment and Treasury Services at the International Personal Bank.

Andrew joined Standard Chartered Bank in 2010 as Regional Head of Wealth Management, Singapore and Southeast Asia, and subsequently also oversaw the Priority & International Banking segment. In December 2013, Andrew was appointed the Head of Retail Banking for Standard Chartered Bank in Taiwan, with responsibility for Priority, Personal, and Business Banking segments, including strategy, business growth, products, distribution, and service.

In July 2015, Andrew relocated back to Singapore and took on the role of Global Head, Managed Investments. In this role, he oversaw the global strategy, management and development of Managed Investment products.

Andrew was appointed the Head of Retail Banking for Standard Chartered Bank Singapore in November 2015, with responsibilities similar to that in Taiwan.

Under Andrew's leadership, the Retail Banking business in Singapore has grown from strength to strength, delivering innovative, disruptive and award-winning client propositions, making banking with Standard Chartered simple and safe.

For instance, in 2017, the Unlimited Cashback Credit Card was introduced to address a market gap, offering an unlimited 1.5% cashback on all spend, with no cashback cap and no minimum spend requirement. The Bank also developed My Way – Singapore's first holistic programme offered by a bank that focuses on health, wealth and self for those aged 55 and above.

These achievements are recognised by the industry as Standard Chartered won a total of 28 awards in 2017 and 2018, including "Best Deposit Product of the Year" by the Asian Banker for MyWay and "Best Mobile App" by the Digital Banker. In 2017, Andrew was named "Trailblazer of the Year (Individual) in Asia" by Retail Banking International. Andrew is also a member of the IBF Standards Committee that provides leadership for the development and implementation of the IBF Standards, certification and Continuing Professional Development to raise industry standards in workplace transformation.

In November 2020, Andrew was appointed as Cluster CEO, Indonesia and ASEAN Markets (Australia, Brunei and The Philippines) with the responsibility for developing and implementing the Bank’s strategy and managing business performance in the region.
