Biography

​Joined DBS in 2017 and is currently the Managing Director and Group Head of Digital, Institutional Banking Group, and Group Head of Global Transaction Services (GTS) Product Management, at DBS Bank. 

Raof oversees more than 170 Product Managers and Digital Leads across our key markets:  Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, India and Indonesia as well as our International Centre in Vietnam and Australia.  

Raof is instrumental in the digital transformation of DBS' institutional banking business. Under his leadership, the business pioneered several new application programming interfaces (APIs), which has the world's largest API platform by a bank with more than 500 APIs to date. He also led the development of several first-in-market innovations, such as DBS MAX, which transformed the payments and collections processes for businesses in Singapore, and played a key role in spearheading multiple ecosystem partnerships to enable its corporate customers to seamlessly fulfil their digital banking, trade, financing and sustainability needs. 

Prior to joining DBS, Raof held senior regional positions at several global banks, including Citigroup, J.P Morgan and HSBC. At Citibank, Raof was responsible for the delivery of the bank's first ever global internet banking platform for the Corporate and Financial Institution segment. At JPMorgan, Raof was responsible for Corporate and Financial institutional products, and lead ASEAN region for Treasury Services business. At HSBC, Raof was the Regional Cash Product Management Head for Asia, covering 19 countries. 

In his career which spans more than 25 years in the financial industry, he has led functions such Liquidity & Cash Management, Financial Institutions, Trade Finance and Services, Foreign Exchange, Clearing & Settlement Services, Corporate Regional Treasury Solutions and Digital Transformation Banking solutions in Singapore and across the Asia-Pacific region. 

Raof currently sits on the Board of HeveaConnect (a digital marketplace for sustainable rubber) and previously with AXS Singapore. 

He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (BCom, IS), Information Systems, from Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom.
