​Anurag Mathur has been Head of Wealth and Personal Banking, Singapore, since September 2016 which is a role that spans retail banking, asset management, insurance and private banking. He holds the position of Chairman of HSBC Global Asset Management (Singapore) and is also an Executive Committee member of Wealth and Personal Banking, Asia Pacific. Prior to that, Anurag was Head of International, Asia-Pacific Wealth and Personal Banking at HSBC, based in Hong Kong.

In his career spanning over twenty-five years, Anurag has worked in Singapore, Australia and Hong Kong. Prior to joining HSBC in 2009, he has worked with Westpac Banking Corporation and Boston Consulting Group based in Sydney, Australia. He holds a Master of Business Administration (Financial Management) from the University of Western Australia.

In Singapore, Anurag has contributed to various financial sector initiatives related to future skills development, culture and conduct and fintech. Most recently, Anurag led the inaugural Banking Trust Index of Singapore Taskforce for the ABS Culture & Conduct Steering Group. Anurag is also a member of IBF Consumer Working group contributing to the Skills Future agenda and developing roles fit for the future in banking. In addition, Anurag has been a strong supporter of the MAS Singapore Fintech Festival where he has participated in various mentorship initiatives and has been a panel reviewer for the MAS Financial Sector Technology and Innovation (FSTI) Proof of Concept scheme.

Anurag was voted ‘Retail Banker of the Year’ by Digital Banker in 2019. He has been a presenter and panellist at various industry conferences in Asia-Pacific, and a member of industry committees. He is passionate about digital innovation, driving sustainable impact and developing diverse talent.
