Biography

Dwaipayan Sadhu (Dwai) is a retail financial services leader with experience across multiple domains and markets. He was recently appointed the Chief Executive Officer of a soon-to-be-launched digital bank, a joint venture between Standard Chartered Bank and NTUC Enterprise.

Dwai has worked in Standard Chartered Bank for close to 20 years, covering a wide range of businesses. In his previous role, he led the Consumer, Private and Business Banking business in Singapore and steered the transformation of the business amidst the Covid-19 disruption. He introduced the hybrid model for wealth management combining digital tools and human advisory, and oversaw record income and client growth. The continued digital transformation of the business led to significantly improved efficiency and client experience.  

Prior to that, Dwai headed the cards, deposits, payments, lending product and segment teams across nine markets in ASEAN and South Asia. He introduced a number of industry-first propositions with cutting edge innovative digital solutions including an end-to-end digitised real-time onboarding solution and mobile banking solutions across markets.

Dwai was also a member of the ABS Culture and Conduct Steering Group, a joint initiative launched by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Association of Banks in Singapore to promote sound culture and raise conduct standards among banks in Singapore. He led an industry forum on analysing industry complaint trends to drive client experience improvements and contributed practical insights to the ABS Industry Practice Note on Culture and Conduct Dashboards.

Dwai holds an M.B.A from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India as well as a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Jadavpur University, India.
