​Mr Lawrence Goh is a managing director at UOB’s Group Technology and Operations (GTO) where he currently holds two portfolios. As Chief Operating Officer for GTO, Lawrence is responsible for developing and executing the function’s strategy including managing information technology (IT) investments for the Bank. He is also the Head of Group Infrastructure Platform Services (GIPS) where he is responsible for the infrastructure and platform architecture for the Group and oversees the implementation and operations of all IT infrastructure and platforms.

At UOB, Lawrence has been instrumental in guiding and shaping the Bank’s technological investment and transformation. A champion in adopting a vision of service and customer centricity both internally and externally, he led the creation of the Test Centre of Excellence to uplift testing quality, automation, efficiency, standards and consistency across the Bank. He also led his team to scale up the Bank’s technology infrastructure to enable the Bank’s employees to work from home safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lawrence also works closely with innovation industry leaders in the application of technology to serve the Bank’s customers. For example, he spearheaded the Bank’s adoption of hybrid cloud technologies through VMware Cloud on Amazon Web Services, driving greater agility and resiliency in UOB’s technological infrastructure.

Lawrence has more than 20 years of IT experience across both corporate and consultancy roles. Prior to joining UOB, Lawrence was the Chief Information Adviser at the largest telecommunications provider in the Philippines. He started his career at Accenture and held various regional leadership positions in areas of strategy and transformation, infrastructure consulting and security.

Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
