Biography

Dennis Khoo has been the Managing Director and Head of Personal Financial Services, Singapore at United Overseas Bank since October 2013. In this current role, he is responsible for the consumer banking business in Singapore, covering all consumer banking products and segments from core banking to privilege banking.

Prior to this, he was the Global Head of Personal and Preferred Banking in Standard Chartered Bank from April to September 2013. In this role, he was responsible for the growth and development of the personal and preferred banking segments globally. Previously, Dennis was appointed the Consumer Banking Head, Singapore at Standard Chartered Bank in October 2010. In this role, he was responsible for the strategic development and management of the Bank's consumer banking business in Singapore.

Prior to this, he was the General Manager for Retail Banking Products in Singapore and Malaysia at Standard Chartered Bank, where he was responsible for the growth and development of the Bank's mortgage, credit card, personal loans and deposits businesses. Under his leadership from April 2008, both the Bank's cards and mortgage business transformed and almost doubled over the next two years. Previously, Dennis had also taken up key roles as the Head of e-commerce, Business Intelligence, Strategy and Marketing Services and was the General Manager for Wealth Management at Standard Chartered Singapore. During his close to 10 years in Standard Chartered, Dennis was closely associated with some of the best innovations in Retail Banking in Singapore, for example, e$aver, the first online deposit in Singapore, XtraSaver, Retail Bonds, and Pay-Any-Card.

Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Dennis was Director of Marketing for Vignette Asia-Pacific, an e-business applications provider headquartered in Austin, Texas. In this role, he was responsible for marketing strategy, communications, public relations, partner marketing, advertising and promotions.

Dennis is an engineer by profession and has a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration, from the National University of Singapore. He also possesses a Masters in Business Research as well as a Doctorate of Philosophy in Business Administration and Management from the University of Western Australia.
