Sharon Khua is currently the Head of API Technology Platform in OCBC Group, overseeing the cross functional teams in agile squads to deliver new capabilities to customers. She has more than 30 years of experience in the finance sector across different functions, including clearing, payment operations, technology architecture, enterprise solutioning, project and platform management.

After helming payment, clearing, and electronic banking operations for twenty years, Sharon made the leap  ten years ago to drive Enterprise Solutioning and Technology Architecture.  She introduced new technology platforms such as the Enterprise Architecture Tool, Conversational Banking, Internet of Things and the like to enhance infrastructure and enable new capabilities.  Among her other contributions are driving digital transformation projects that are at the forefront of industry trends in payment related products, security practices and technology risk management to redefine customer engagements and increase operational efficiency.  She was honoured with the OCBC CEO Quality Leadership Award in recognition of her efforts. 

In addition, Sharon has supported notable national-level projects, leading the industry Operation and Legal Workgroup in the rollout of Real Time and Bulk Payment infrastructure such as FAST, PAYNOW, GIRO and Direct FAST.  Sharon is a Committee Member of The Singapore Clearing House Association, a position that she has held for more than 10 years. In this role, she has helped steward the management and governance of Singapore Payment and Clearing Systems. Outside of work, she has volunteered for many years in Enterprise Singapore’s Business Excellence regime and has been recognised as a Green Jacket Business Excellence assessor in 2019.     

Prior to joining OCBC Bank, Sharon was Head, Customer Service and Service Quality at Standard Chartered Bank and Cluster Head of Regional Cash Process Management in Citibank N.A. where she was involved in pioneering projects including the rollout of the Lockbox solution in Singapore in the 1990s. 

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the National University of Singapore where she majored in Economics and Statistics.
