"The forward-looking nature of upskilling makes it relevant regardless of the times.

One who upskills during economic downturns stands to reap the rewards from unexpected opportunities in the ensuing upswing.

Mr Vincent Ee has 32 years of experience in the financial services industry. He took a major leap in 2002 to transform Financial Alliance from scratch to become one of the most innovative, widely respected and well-balanced Independent Financial Advisory (“IFA”) firms in Singapore today.

In these 19 years, as the CEO and Principal Officer of Financial Alliance, Mr Ee has devoted his efforts to develop the company as an IFA firm that empowers financial consultants to offer unbiased and independent financial advice. Starting with 5 financial consultants back in 2002, Financial Alliance is now a leading IFA firm with more than 400 financial consultants and support staff.

Mr Ee is an active Exco member of the Association of Financial Advisers Singapore ("AFAS"). In the AFAS, Mr Ee has the perfect platform to elevate the standing, capability and resilience of the financial advisory/planning industry. He has been on the AFAS Exco since 2009. He was elected to be its President for 2 consecutive two-year terms (from 2013 to 2017) after being Vice President (from 2011 to 2013). The period of his Presidency coincided with a time of great change in the financial advisory industry – the Financial Advisory Industry Review (“FAIR”). He was instrumental in getting the industry’s voice heard by the FAIR Panel, in shaping the review’s outcome for the industry and in getting the industry to implement FAIR’s recommendations.

In the post-FAIR years, Mr Ee continues to actively help the financial advisory industry implement regulatory changes and institute relevant industry practices. As a key industry leader, Mr Ee engages the Monetary Authority of Singapore ("MAS") regularly and is pivotal in raising Singapore's financial advisory industry to the level it is today.

Mr Ee receives invitations to speak at industry-wide events in Singapore and Malaysia, where he encourages financial industry practitioners to constantly adapt their practice to thrive and remain relevant despite the competitive, economic and regulatory challenges facing the industry.
