Angelo was the Founder and CEO of Heritage Trust Group, a business he established in 2002. As a leading trust and corporate services provider, Heritage employed 60 professional staff across three jurisdictions –Singapore, Hong Kong and the British Virgin Islands.

Following the acquisition of Heritage by Equiom (a P/E backed group), in October 2016, Angelo was appointed Managing Director of Equiom Singapore and currently serves as a Director on the Singapore and Asian Boards. During this period, Angelo has been heavily involved with the integration process to ensure a successful transition to the new shareholders.

From 2013 to 2016, he was a Director of the Worldwide Board of the “Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners” (STEP). Being the peak industry body of the wealth planning industry, he travelled to London four times a year for Board Meetings.

In 2014, Angelo was conferred the title, IBF Fellow of the “Institute of Banking and Finance” in Singapore.

Angelo is a member of various professional bodies including the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL), Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) and Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

He has written and edited various books, including the 2nd edition of “World’s Leading Financial and Trust Centres” and the 3rd edition of “Islamic Banking & Finance”.

Dr Venardos holds the following academic qualifications, B. Econ, MBA, M. Juris, SJD.

Prior to coming to Asia (HK) in 1998, Angelo was a senior corporate banker in Sydney and Brisbane with experience in property lending and various types of M&A transactions.

Angelo has also completed a number of INED courses including those offered by the SID, the AICD, the FT to ensure that his experience in the areas of corporate governance, risk management and cyber security remains up to date. He has also completed a 1 week programme at INSEAD (Fontainbleau-France) on “Family Enterprises”.

In terms of giving back to community, he has served on the boards of his Australian university alumni and AAS, the oldest university association in Singapore.
