Prerequisites

Completed IBF Standards: Relationship Management - Priority Banking (Level 1) programme or show proof of competency at Level 1orPossess minimum 3 years of relevant experience in priority banking

  • Perform a role focusing on client relationship management, including client acquisition
  • Provide investment and insurance advice and on-going servicing of mass affluent clients
  • Lead a group of relationship managers (if applicable)

Competencies

Industry Knowledge: Wealth Advisory Products

Apply knowledge of the wealth advisory products and basic wealth advisory investment concepts suitable for mass affluent clients and in addressing ethical dilemmas.

Industry Knowledge:Laws & Regulations

Apply knowledge of relevant laws and regulations to compliance requirements in carrying wealth advisory activities for mass affluent clients and in addressing ethical dilemmas.

Client Acquisition and Business Development

Source and acquire new mass affluent clients.

Completion of IBF Standards: Relationship Management - Priority Banking (Level 2/3) programme allows for exemption in IBF Standards: Relationship Management - Private Banking (Level 1), subject to bridging

Client Acceptance and On-boarding (KYC/AML)

Perform acceptance checks and on-boarding of mass affluent clients in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Completion of IBF Standards: Relationship Management - Priority Banking (Level 2/3) programme allows for exemption in IBF Standards: Relationship Management - Private Banking (Level 1), subject to bridging

Investment and Bank Assurance Advisory

Advise mass affluent clients on their investments and basic insurance needs by analysing their financial needs and objectives, recommending suitable “off the shelf” financial solutions available on an open architecture platform, and reviewing client accounts periodically to ensure client needs and objectives are met.

Completion of IBF Standards: Relationship Management - Priority Banking (Level 2/3) programme allows for exemption in IBF Standards: Relationship Management - Private Banking (Level 1), subject to bridging.

Servicing Clients

Perform ongoing servicing of mass affluent client accounts and identify any potential opportunities for extending basic and priority banking services provided by the financial institution.
