Biography

Chuan Lim is a seasoned practitioner in regulations, compliance and governance, with extensive experience across public and private sector. He has taken on leadership roles in international and regional banks, including Head of Compliance for Singapore & ASEAN and Head of Public Affairs for ASEAN & South Asia at Standard Chartered; Head of Government Relations and Governance for APAC and Head of Compliance for Singapore at Deutsche Bank; and Head of Compliance for Singapore at CIMB.

Before joining banking, he spent more than a decade with the Monetary Authority of Singapore, where his remits ranged from international relations, prudential policy, banking supervision, to capital markets, heading the division responsible for the supervision and policy formulation for exchanges and clearing infrastructures.

Chuan Lim contributes considerably to the development of industry standards through participation in various committees and initiatives with the Association of Banks in Singapore and the Institute of Banking and Finance. He regularly speaks at conferences and contributes to industry publications, sharing insights and best practices, promoting compliance and ethical behaviour. Through the SG Leaders Network Mentoring Programme, Chuan Lim guides aspiring professionals, helping them build skills and foster growth. An advocate for continuous learning, he is also a program leader with Toronto Centre providing training to Indo-Pacific regulators, and a guest lecturer with the Wealth Management Institute.

Chuan Lim is a Chartered Accountant of Singapore, alumnus of the Asian Financial Leaders Programme and Singapore Public Service Governance and Leadership Programme, and has been recognised as one of the Top 15 Chief Compliance Officers by the Asian Legal Business.
