Chris Ngooi
Head of Wholesale Funding and Executive Director, DBS Bank
Biography
Chris Ngooi is the Head of Wholesale Funding for DBS, responsible for the banking group’s term funding and capital issuances as well as fixed income investor relations since 2021.
Prior to his current role, he was the Senior Vice President of Corporate Treasury for DBS’ Hong Kong operations primarily responsible for balance sheet, funding and strategic portfolio management. He is a seasoned corporate treasury and capital markets professional with more than 20 years regional experience across multiple disciplines.
As Chairperson of the ABS Standing Committee on Covered Bonds (SCCB), Chris represents Singapore at the global level advocating Singapore’s covered bonds framework alignment with industry standards and represents Singapore’s interests at global forums particularly on discussions around third country equivalence. He engages with members of the SCCB, the MAS and ABS on covered bonds framework and governance related matters. He worked closely with the ABS and MAS to promote Singapore as the host country for the marquee international covered bond conference outside of Europe organised by the ECBC and FT-Live. Chris also speaks regularly on capital markets conferences.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting & Finance from Monash University, Australia.
