Biography

​Jean Chia is currently Bank of Singapore's Chief Investment Officer. She oversees the firm's Macroeconomics, Investment Strategy, FX, Equities, Fixed Income & Alternatives Research franchise, as well as Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM), Advisory Portfolio Management (APM) and Funds Selection teams at Bank of Singapore. 

She is a member of the board of directors for BOS International Funds, Luxembourg and a member of the OCBC Wealth Panel. 

Jean has over 20 years of experience in Private Banking and Asset Management. Prior to her current role, she was previously Head, Equities Advisory & Sales, responsible for the equities and derivatives business at Bank of Singapore, and Head of Client Advisory Services for Equities, Investment Products & Services at UBS Wealth Management, Singapore. 

Prior to UBS, she was Vice President, Head of Grassroots Research at Allianz Dresdner Asset Management (now known as Allianz Global Investors). 

Jean is currently a Financial Women's Association of Singapore (FWA) Female Champion and speaks on financial inclusion and diversity. 

Jean contributes frequently to local media such as The Business Times under the CIO Corner column, writing on investment and ESG-related topics. She also frequently speaks as a panelist at conferences and webinars at Bank of Singapore and industry events. 

Since 2018, Jean has served on the Professional Curriculum Review Panel for the Singapore Management University, where she provides industry input for the Master of Science in Wealth Management Program. She also serves as an assessor for the program. 

From 2017-2020, Jean was a member of Singapore Exchange (SGX) Securities Advisory Committee as the only private banking representative on the committee which provides industry feedback to SGX on equities, derivatives and capital markets initiatives to support the local exchange. 

Jean holds a Masters in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from University of Oxford, United Kingdom.
