Biography

Melita Teo is the Chief Customer and Digital Officer of AIA Singapore. Drawing on a wealth of industry experience, Melita is responsible for strengthening the Customer, Brand, Health and Wellness propositions, advancing the enterprise-wide Analytics capabilities and usage, and accelerating the delivery of an integrated Digital experience across Customers and Distribution.

Melita leads the division to identify strategic areas of growth for the business and service excellence to customers through an unwavering focus on customer experience and outcomes, and integrated digitalisation transformation of business and services.

Prior her role as Chief Customer and Digital Officer, Melita served as the Chief Operations Officer of AIA Singapore since 2016, developing and driving the digital transformation for customers and distribution, delivery of quality and sustainable healthcare for customers in addition to overseeing operations, which include customer service, policy services, underwriting and claims departments. Under her leadership, AIA received multiple industry accolades in Digital, Healthcare and Customer Service Excellence.

Melita has held management roles in strategy and planning, P&L led for Corporate Solutions, business development, channel sales management and compliance. She led and delivered major AIA enterprise-wide projects, including the subsidiarisation of AIA Singapore Branch in 2011, as well as the development and launch of the full business and operational capability for AIA Vitality in 2013, when she was Chief Business Development Officer. Under her leadership as Chief Corporate Solutions Officer, AIA retained its market leadership position and achieved the Best Employee Insurance Provider (GOLD) Award – The top industry accolade and, one of Asia’s largest award dedicated to celebrating the achievements of organisations that do their best in serving the human resources community.

Melita had also served as the Key Regulatory Liaison Officer to Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Central Provident Fund Board (CPFB) and Life Insurance Association in Singapore (LIA) and had dealt with numerous regulatory developments on behalf of AIA Singapore.

Melita holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with a double major in Economics and Finance from Curtin University of Technology in Australia.
