Biography

Ng Peng Khim serves as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Applications Technology and Operations at DBS Group. He has been with DBS for over 14 years since joining in 2009. In his capacity as CTO, he oversees a team of more than 9,300 professionals across China, India, Hong Kong, and Singapore, and is responsible for managing 25 platforms that support Business, Enterprise Support, and Shared applications within DBS Group.

Peng Khim brings with him 30-years of experience in the banking sector and specialises in the management of business and technology systems architecture for corporate and investment banking products and services, both locally and regionally.

His achievements encompass the successful implementation of core banking applications like Finacle across DBS offices, as well as building payment gateways, including SWIFT and DBS IDEAL, to shape the future of banking in Asia. He has played a pivotal role in establishing a Financial Risk Data Mart to enhance the bank’s ability to analyse and report its financial and risk position. Most recently, Peng Khim led the successful integration of DBS with Citi Taiwan’s consumer business.

Beyond DBS Group, Peng Khim actively participates in industry and regulatory initiatives, serving as the industry workstream technology lead (i.e. SGTraDex, Trade Digidocs, eGIRO, Trade Finance Registry, Fast 2.0). His involvement in projects like Project Ubin, Project Dunbar, Project Guardian, and Project Orchid underscores DBS's commitment to fostering a robust Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) ecosystem in Singapore.

Peng Khim was instrumental in the establishment of Climate Impact X (CIX) in 2021, a joint venture between DBS, Temasek, SGX, and Standard Chartered, aimed at creating a global marketplace and exchange for high-quality carbon credits. 

Before joining DBS, Peng Khim had a15-year career at Citigroup, where he served as Managing Director and Head of Asia Pacific Institutional Client Group Technology. Some of his significant achievements at Citigroup include leading the Y2K implementation for Citibank Singapore, pioneering CitiDirect, the world's first internet banking solution, and spearheading the Korea Koram Bank system integration.

Peng Khim's career began with the Singapore Housing Development Board. He was was a Singapore Public Service Commission scholar and graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Melbourne.
