Biography

Simon Ng is a respected leader with more than 25 years of experience in capital markets, investment, and wealth management. He is recognised for championing ethical standards, advancing financial literacy, and driving workforce transformation to meet the evolving demands of global finance. As President of CFA Society Singapore, Simon spearheads transformative initiatives that elevated industry professionalism, champions ethical standards, and advances sustainable finance and financial literacy.

Simon started his investment management career with AXA Investment Managers Quantitative Equities. There, he leveraged rigorous, data-driven, systematic investment processes to enhance alpha generation, capitalise on market mispricing, and strengthen portfolio risk management. Rising to Asia Pacific Deputy Chief Investment Officer, he guided institutional portfolios with discipline and innovation before leaving in 2015.

He went on to serve as Chief Executive Officer at RHB Asset Management Pte. Ltd. and CCB International (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., leading both organisations through evolving market conditions. In 2024, Simon founded Peak Capital Management Pte. Ltd., where his steady guidance has earned the trust of institutional and high-net-worth clients through volatile markets.

Simon has led initiatives embedding the CFA Institute’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct across the industry, reinforcing a culture of trust and professionalism. One flagship achievement has been introducing the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing & Preparatory Programme, supported under The Institute of Banking and Finance Standards Training Scheme, equipping finance professionals with critical ESG expertise and positioning Singapore as Asia’s sustainable finance hub.

Another contribution is Simon’s role as co-author of the Reserves and Investment booklet within the Accounting and Finance Handbook for Charities, developed with the Centre for Social Development Asia. This publication provides clear, practical frameworks for financial governance, reserves management, and investment practices, significantly improving transparency, regulatory compliance, and long-term sustainability in Singapore’s non-profit sector. By raising governance standards, it has strengthened public trust and positioned Singapore as a leader in charitable financial best practices globally.

Simon is also deeply committed to education. He serves as an adjunct lecturer at the Singapore Management University Lee Kong Chian School of Business and the Singapore University of Social Sciences School of Business. As a member of the SUSS Finance Programme Advisory Committee, he has shaped curricula to reflect emerging fields such as FinTech, sustainable finance, and ESG investing.

Simon holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
