Biography

May Ling is Senior Vice President and Head of Group Operations and Technology – Global Treasury & Risk Management in OCBC Bank. She currently leads teams in supporting the Global Treasury and Group Risk Management divisions, with responsibilities spanning across 10 markets globally. A veteran in the bank, May Ling has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry, with deep expertise in treasury operations and technology projects that was honed through various job rotations and exposure to different parts of the Bank. 

May Ling began her career in private banking operations in another bank before joining OCBC Bank in 2004. She rose through the ranks over the years and was appointed Senior Vice President and Head of Group Operations and Technology – Global Treasury & Group Risk Management in 2021. 

As chairperson of the Singapore Foreign Exchange Market Committee (SFEMC)'s Market Operations sub-committee since 2015, May Ling drives knowledge and best practice sharing among 10 member banks, covering regulatory, industry, risk management and operational practices. This includes sharing on the latest developments in the industry, such as emerging technologies in Web 3.0, from Artificial Intelligence and machine learning, to blockchain and process automation. 

A strong believer in delivering quality, May Ling leads by example to drive improvements and achieve standards. This is evident from the numerous Excellent Service Awards (EXSA) that her team obtained, which is a national award that recognises individuals for quality service. 

Today, May Ling sits on various committees as a representative of the Bank, including the OCBC Scholarship Committee from 2019 to 2021.
