Biography

Wijaya Abori leads OCBC’s Group Data Protection Office, where he shapes data protection strategy and governance across the bank’s global network. In his role, Wijaya ensures that the bank has strong, regulator-aligned and practical privacy practices.

Under his leadership, OCBC became one of the first organisations in the world to be recognised with both the Data Protection Trustmark and the Global Cross-Border Privacy Rules System Certification. These milestones show OCBC’s commitment to keeping customer data safe while supporting secure international data flows.

Wijaya combines deep knowledge of privacy with a practical approach to innovation. He works closely with stakeholders to keep privacy standards consistent across different countries. His efforts have integrated privacy into the bank’s culture, making responsible data use part of everyday decision-making.

He also champions upskilling and workforce transformation in the financial industry. His initiatives to align OCBC’s data protection framework with internationally certified standards have fostered cross-functional collaboration and turned governance into a competitive advantage.
