About the Speaker
Paige Berges is currently principal counsel at a large development finance organization advising on sanctions matters. Prior to this, Paige was Counsel in the Litigation and Enforcement Practice group at Ropes & Gray LLP based in London where she advised private equity firms, financial institutions, FinTechs, corporate, and NGO/charity clients on compliance with Economic and Trade Sanctions, Export Controls, Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-terrorist financing, and Anti-Corruption regulations, with a particular focus on pre-investment due diligence, post-investment monitoring (including regulatory reporting), and pro-active compliance programme building. Prior to that, she was the manager of the Business Integrity team at British International Investment (previously CDC Group) and Vice President, Sanctions Advisory at Barclays Investment Bank, also based in London, where she was responsible for advising on financial crime issues across debt, equity and markets businesses. Before relocating to London in 2015, Paige spent eight years in white collar defense and litigation practice at two global law firms in New York.

About the Speaker
Sally Peng is a Senior Managing Director and leads the Export Controls, Sanctions & Trade practice in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region at FTI Consulting. Sally is an expert in export controls, economic sanctions, international trade strategy, global supply chain optimization and trade compliance.
Sally has extensive experience advising public-listed companies on their complex encryption programs under U.S. laws and other Asia Pacific jurisdictions, including representing her clients in front of relevant government agencies in the APAC region. She also advises many Asia-based clients regarding U.S. and other sanctions regulations, primarily focusing on pre-IPO preparation and portfolio management. In addition, she works closely with her clients’ legal, procurement and logistics teams to build best-in-class export controls and sanctions compliance programs. Her industry coverage includes private equity and funds, semiconductor companies, Cloud and emerging technologies, telecommunications, national defense contractors, heavy machinery, and research universities.
Sally has been a trusted advisor for many MNCs on their international trade supply chain and Customs issues. She advises clients on their supply chain operation issues related to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). She served as team leader for several global retailers in large-scale Customs duty-saving projects in more than 10 Asian countries. During the ongoing U.S.-China trade war, Sally is sought after by her clients to advise them on mitigating strategies against U.S. Section 301 and 232 retaliation tariffs, free trade agreements, trade preference programmes and country of origin issues. Her industry coverage includes apparel, footwear, handbag and leather goods, hardline goods and consumer electronics.
Sally takes her passion for international trade beyond individual companies, having participated in negotiations of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), as well as serving as a key member on numerous trade missions, including to China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Bangladesh, and various African countries. She is also highly involved in the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, serving as Vice Chairman for the Board of Governors and on several committees, including China Business Committee and Apparel, Footwear & Supply Chain Committee.
Prior to FTI Consulting, Sally was based in Beijing and Hong Kong for more than 10 years as the Asia Pacific practice leader of a U.S.-based law firm focused on International Trade and Customs. Sally holds a J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, a Diploma from Peking University Law School in Beijing, and a B.A. from National Chengchi University College of Law. Sally is admitted to the Bar of Washington D.C. and to the Massachusetts Bar. She is a native Mandarin speaker and is fluent in English.

About the Speaker
Sharon’s professional experience spans appointments as Global Head of Compliance for banks headquartered in Asia and the Middle East, as well as regional and product specialist compliance roles for banks headquartered in the US and UK. She worked with the MAS and was subsequently appointed to the MAS Appeals Panel. Sharon read law at Cambridge University, UK, and is qualified in the UK, US and Singapore. She is a CFA Charter holder and has held several global and regional appointments. She holds a MSc in Digital Innovation and Fintech and is an IBF Distinguished Fellow.
