What is IBF Careers Connect (IBFCC)?

IBF Careers Connect provides career advisory services to individuals in the financial industry. Whether you are looking to take on a new role or making a career switch into the financial industry, we have resources to help you on your career journey.

What does a career journey look like in partnership with your career adviser and what are the services provided to individuals?

IBF Careers Connect provides guidance and advice to support individuals’ journey in developing their careers in the financial industry.

Our services include: 

  • Career advisory* where we help individuals navigate career transitions, and provide information for individuals to plan, make and implement career-related decisions
  • Labour market trends and occupational information
  • Tailored job search strategies and support for job interviews
  • Support in identifying programmes to enhance employability
  • Access to networking events to connect with other finance professionals


Career development is a continual assessment of the skills and knowledge needed to make your next career move. 
You will collaborate with IBF Careers Connect Career Advisory in your career development journey.

*Note: IBF Careers Connect Advisory Services are available for Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents who are existing financial professionals or those looking to make a career switch to the financial industry. 

How can I make an appointment to see a Career Adviser?

Email us at [email protected] to schedule an appointment with our Career Advisers. We will get back to you within three working days with a step-by-step guide on the information to provide. 
  
Note: The IBF Careers Connect Centre is closed to visitors. All career advisory sessions are conducted virtually until further notice.

How long is a career advisory session?

Each session will last around 30 minutes. Depending on your career needs/ priorities, subsequent sessions can be arranged with your assigned Career Adviser.

What does a career advisory session entail?

A career advisory session typically covers:

  • Needs assessment – where you are in your career journey and what you would like to achieve in partnership with your coach
  • Action planning – depending on the needs assessment, your coach and you will identify next steps, which could include working on your job search skills, improving your resume and interviewing skills

IBF Careers Connect works with hiring companies to source for suitable candidates within our candidate pool.  To ensure quality referrals are made to hiring companies, our Career Advisers will screen and shortlist suitable candidates before referring them to you.

IBF Careers Connect offers career transition services for employers. If you are conducting an outplacement exercise, we can help your affected employees in the following ways:

  1. Notification Day Training for Managers
  2. Notification Day Support For Retrenched Staff
  3. Career workshops
  4. Career advisory (individual) – a career coach will be assigned to help individuals navigate their career transitions.
