Recognition for Core FAA/ SFA​ CPD Courses

Appointed representatives are expected to undergo continuing education so as to keep abreast of developments in the financial advisory industry and update their skills and knowledge in relation to the type of financial advisory services they provide.

Under MAS Notice FAA-N13 and SFA 04-N09​, appointed representatives are required to undertake structured CPD, which includes a minimum of 6 training ​hours in Ethics and 8 training hours in Rules and Regulations (referred to as Core CPD Hours) annually. Courses in Ethics and Rules & Regulations must be accredited by IBF to be counted toward Core CPD hours. 

You may apply for Core FAA/ SFA CPD programme recognition if you are a financial institution regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, an institute of higher learning under the Ministry of Education or an Eligible Organisation approved by the IBF.

Key Requirements

IBF will evaluate programmes based on the following criteria:

  • Programme Objective and Target Audience
  • Programme and Assessment Details
  • Trainer and Assessor Experience and Qualification

An administrative fee of S$218 (Inclusive of GST) will be charged for each new application, and S$218 (Inclusive of GST) for the renewal of an existing programme.
