Biography

​As the Head of Data, Analytics and Customer Relationship Management (ASEAN) for Wealth and Personal Banking at HSBC, Gunjan leads initiatives which responsibly commercialize information assets using AIDA (Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics) and open a world of opportunities for customers. Gunjan is a member of Singapore’s retail banking Executive Committee and Global Data & Analytics Leadership team for Wealth and Personal Banking.

Over the past 16 years with HSBC, Gunjan has developed and deployed numerous data inspired solutions across Singapore, ASEAN, China, HK, Australia, and the Americas to improve customers’ online and offline banking experience and to mitigate business risks. He has led the launch of several cloud based Data and Machine Learning (ML) services to improve customer engagement. For Veritas (Phase I and II), a Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) sponsored project, Gunjan co-led the Fairness and Transparency workstreams and helped develop toolkits to measure bias and assess transparency in AIDA decision making for customer marketing. Project Veritas is part of Singapore National AI Strategy and is aimed at enabling financial institutions evaluate their AIDA-driven solutions against fairness, ethics, accountability and transparency (FEAT) principles.

Gunjan is passionate about delivering differentiated user experiences inspired by ethical use of data. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Gujarat University and an MBA from the Indian institute of Management, Lucknow. He has been studying consumer behaviours over the last 20 years and is still learning more each day.
