Biography

Ms Jacquelyn Tan is the Head of Group Personal Financial Services at UOB. She leads a team of close to 7,000 banking professionals and is responsible for the Consumer Banking Business in Singapore and the region – namely China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. She is responsible for the Secured lending, Unsecured lending and Deposit and Wealth management businesses, serving a wide range of client segments spanning from core banking to wealth and privilege banking. She is also responsible for the functional teams including Mobile & Digital banking, Sales & Distribution, Marketing, Customer Franchise and Business Analytics. 

Jacquelyn has led UOB's Consumer Bank to win many industry awards, with notable mentions including Best Retail Bank Singapore by The Asian Banker for three years consecutively, Domestic Retail Bank of the Year by Asian Banking & Finance for four years consecutively and Best Retail Bank Singapore by Retail Banker International. She was also most recently instrumental in the acquisition of Citibank Consumer Business in the four regional markets.    

An active contributor to the developments in the finance industry, Jacquelyn was the Chair of the PayNow steering committee in 2016, launching the industry's first peer to peer fund transfer service. She was reappointed as the Chair in 2021 and is currently overseeing cross border payments. She is also a member of the Asia Pacific Visa Client Council since 2020 and UnionPay International SEASP Council since 2015.  

Jacquelyn has more than 23 years of experience in the finance industry. She was the head of the Singapore and Regional Unsecured lending business in UOB before taking up her current appointment. Prior to joining UOB, she was the Head of Unsecured Lending for Citibank Singapore. She started her banking career as a Citi Management Associate, and gained a breath of functional experience covering Treasury, Consumer Finance, Wealth Management, Marketing, and Onshore and Offshore Segment Management. 

Jacquelyn holds a Master of Science in Finance from Imperial College London, and a Bachelor of Economics and Statistics from University College London.
