Senior Vice President, Technical Services, MSIG Insurance (Singapore) Pte Ltd
Jeremy is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS 2003) and has an Executive MBA from Kellogg-HKUST (2009). He has over 20 years of experience in the General Insurance industry.
He was the Regional Actuary for MSIG Holdings (Asia) Pte Ltd (previously known as CGU Asia) till 2010 and was the approved/certifying actuary for MSIG operations in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong during this period.
In 2009, Jeremy moved into a non-actuarial senior management role in MSIG Insurance (Hong Kong) Limited in 2010, heading the newly integrated Business Services division covering Underwriting, Reinsurance, Claims and Legal Services.
After spending three and a half years in Hong Kong, he returned to Singapore in 2013 to assume his current Technical Services role in MSIG Insurance (Singapore) Pte Ltd and at one point in time, was responsible for managing over close to 300 staff. Currently, he oversees Underwriting, Reinsurance, Claims, Data Intelligence & Actuarial and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) departments.
Outside of work, he has been an active volunteer in various organisations. The volunteer work in insurance included Singapore Actuarial Society (SAS) GI Committee member till 2010 and was part of the committee that introduced annual SAS GI conference in Singapore, GIA WIPAH Committee member, Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) volunteering as exam proctor initially and as facilitator for CAS Professionalism courses, and more recently as President of CAS ARECA Committee (ARECA stands for Asia Region Casualty Actuaries), responsible for connecting local CAS members, supporting new members, expanding actuarial knowledge in the Property & Casualty insurance field and inspiring professionalism and innovation for the Asian region. He is CAS liaison officer for Nanyang Technological University and is currently volunteering in an international CAS workgroup to finalise the content outline for a revamped CAS professional exam for non-US students.
