Biography

Rajeev Tummala is Head of Digital & Data for Asia, MENA for HSBC Securities Services, where he drives the transformation and reimagination of post-trade and asset servicing capabilities.He has led some of the industry’s most significant advances in tokenisation, digital custody, and programmable financial infrastructure.

Since 2019, Rajeev has pioneered HSBC’s digital asset roadmap leading initiatives such as Digital Vault, one of the first private credit tokenisation platforms, and in 2020 piloted S$3B digital fixed income issuances pilots with SGX and Temasek, a precursor to HSBC Orion. Orion is now live in Luxembourg and Hong Kong, and has supported over 10 digital-native bond issuances as of 2025, establishing HSBC as a frontrunner in regulated tokenisation services. He also spearheaded the extension of tokenisation into structured products, funds, and ETFs, laying the foundations for scalable wealth solutions on programmable rails.

Beyond his firm, Rajeev plays a central role in shaping Singapore’s financial market infrastructure. He co-chairs the SFEMC Fixed Income Digitalisation Workgroup at MAS, chairs the Singapore FinTech Association Capital Markets Sub-Committee, and was co-chair of the Funds National Market Practice Group, where he seeded the central utility Fundnode, launched in 2023 as a DLT-based utility of Marketnode digitising fund flows. He also contributes as various MAS initiatives on DLT initiatives and leads HSBC’s involvement in Project Guardian with a focus on creating legal frameworks and technical designs for tokenised funds and wealth products under Singapore’s VCC regime.

Rajeev’s perspective is anchored in the belief that open programmable infrastructure combining digital assets, public-good protocols, and interoperable standards will be the foundation of the next generation of financial services. By enabling assets and associated information records to become “programmable,” he envisions markets that are more transparent, inclusive, and efficient, with vast potential for financial inclusion and cross-border flows across Asia.

A strong advocate of talent development, he mentors emerging leaders and champions continuous upskilling in emerging capabilities. He actively supports competency frameworks that build future-ready capabilities, aligning with MAS’s vision of a resilient, innovative, and purposeful financial sector.
