Biography

​Sean joined Manulife Singapore in February 2021 as the Chief Bancassurance Officer in charge of driving growth and shareholder value across bank partnerships. Sean also champions the transformation and digitisation efforts to strengthen bancassurance capabilities – delivering best-in-class customer experiences and a wide spectrum of risk management offerings across the various client segments.  

Before joining Manulife, Sean was Managing Director for the Life Strategic Business in AXA Singapore, where he was also an Executive sponsor advocating Diversity and Inclusion. Under his leadership, AXA was awarded the International Life Insurer of the year in 2019 and 2020 by Insurance Asia Awards for its commitment to empowering customers to live better lives. He has over 20 years of progressive leadership experience in Singapore and Indonesia across multiple domains spanning business transformation, sales distribution, product development, claims, and underwriting.  

Sean is passionate about improving the professionalism and standards of the insurance industry. As an inaugural member of the Insurance Culture and Conduct Steering Committee, he chaired the Life Intermediary subcommittee dialogues working with MAS and industry stakeholders to publish the Life intermediary best practices paper on culture and conduct. He also held various roles as an Executive Member for Life Insurance Association and as a Member of the Academic Board at the Singapore College of Insurance. 

Sean holds a Bachelor of Business from Monash University. As an ex-national Rugby player, Sean is passionate about creating environments where diverse teams can thrive and grow.
